GOOD GOVERNANCE AND INDEPENDENCE IN NIGERIA.

A couple of days ago,the internet went agog with a video of the past Governor of Anambra state,Mr. Peter Obi where he talked about some measures he took to reduce Government spending such as flying economy class and sleeping in regular 40,000 naira hotels instead of 250,000 naira presidential suites.

A lot of people commended him for been prudent while some people said he was a stingy man who never dashed money and some others called him 'aradite'. (Very funny) but this buttresses the fact that it is impossible to please everyone no matter your level of influence.I remember i was asked a question once by a friend,he told me that if you remember the story of Lazarus, the bible said Jesus was fond of him as he usually visited the house of Mary Magdalene but when he died Jesus rose him from the dead,my friends question was ; Is it only Lazarus that died then? and in my usual friends character he said you cant please everyone.

But is it possible for a leader to be loved by his people.Yes it is,maybe not everyone but majority. So is the case with the late Nelson Mandela. If you visit South Africa today you will still hear great stories of what he did and the way people sing about him.

How many Nigerian leaders can we do a portrait and hang in our houses or even in public places. I spent my independence watching Tafawa Balewa's speech during the 1960 independence, followed by President Buharis 1983 take over speech and then his speech on the 1st of October,2016 and i realized that if we do not take a stand and collectively work hard to salvage our country then we will be failures to our children. Don't you just feel ashamed when you listen to a Trump and Hilary debate and you don't hear, i will build roads, there will be constant light, fuel price will reduce, they talk about policies, taxes, immigration, security and jobs.

The present government promised us all these things and we are still waiting, they have come up with numerous economic policies and they are all failing.

Federal and State governments need to step up their game because Nigerians are getting wiser everyday and the clock is ticking. No more shall we be fooled by space projects and leaders who are more or less emperors.

A leader is a servant and a shepherd and a shepherd looks after his flock just like Jesus so if you are a leader and your reading this and you are not living and emulating Christ then be certain that when you are gone you will not be remembered.

This is the #GospelTruth
