The Deputy Governor of Cross River State,  Rt Hon. Peter Odey, Monday, welcomed Mr. Thomas Ikpeme, the Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for the Healthy Billionaires (HB) Fitness Walk 5.0. Mr. Ikpeme, accompanied by other distinguished members of the LOC, paid a courtesy visit to the Government House in Calabar. 


In his remarks, Odey praised Healthy Billionaires (HB) for their commendable initiative and pledged unwavering support towards the realization of the organization's predetermined goals and objectives, thereby ensuring its success. 


While acknowledging the importance of HB and their efforts in promoting tourism and sporting activities in Cross River State and Nigeria, which according to him have earned the admiration of many, he encourage them to continue their good work in showcasing the state's  tourism potentials. 


Speaking earlier, Mr. Ikpeme said that the purpose of the team's visit to the deputy governor, whom he described as accessible, supportive, and dependable, was to apprise him of the upcoming Healthy Billionaires Fitness Walk 5.0. This event is scheduled to take place at the Obudu Mountain Resort from June 14th to 17th, 2024. Furthermore, the team extended an official invitation to the deputy governor, requesting his presence at the 2024 edition of this grand occasion. 


He (Special Adviser to the Governor on Tourism Development) lauded  the deputy governor for consistently extending his supportive hand to the organization and for his support of the 'People First' Governor, Senator (Prince) Bassey Edet Otu.

THE CROSS RIVER STATE GOVERNMENT COLLABORATE WITH OIL PALM GROWERS ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA (OPGAN) TO CREATE THE LARGEST SUSTAINABLE SMALL HOLDERS OIL PALM ECONOMY IN AFRICA In a deliberate and strategic move by the Cross River State Government to invest in the agricultural sector and fulfill and implement its vision, the State Governor, his excellency, Sen. Prince Bassey Otu has accepted to adopt the proposal of the Oil Palm Growers Association of Nigeria (OPGAN) as an immediate initiative to boost agriculture in the state. The collaboration/partnership between the Cross River State Government and OPGAN is to create an Oil Palm revolution across the entire value chain which will involve the establishment and management of nurseries, plantations, logistics, processing/milling, storage, refining, manufacturing, sales/distribution, access to local and international markets which shall be jointly executed with the Nigerian Institute for Oil Palm Research (NIFOR)

Cross River State Partners with 3MTT to Ignite Tech Industry.

In a move to propel the state's creative and digital economy, the Cross River State government has partnered with the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) initiative. This collaboration is set to empower Cross River's tech landscape. Great Ogban, Director-General of the Cross River State Microfinance and Enterprise Development Agency (CRSMEDA), highlighted a multifaceted support system. This will encompass training programs, infrastructure development, and resource distribution through starter kits to jumpstart tech ventures. "We're establishing a comprehensive database encompassing MSMEs across various sectors, including creative, digital, agricultural, and manufacturing," said Ogban.
